Hi folks,
I was delighted to see Leslie's note about a Blue-winged Warbler at
Cromwell, because we had one in our yard on Sunday, 10/18. I thought it to
be extremely late for this species, but the Yellow Book shows a late date of
26 Oct.
Also of note is that I birded Swan Creek with Ed Carlson yesterday afternoon
(Dan Haas was also there briefly) and our best find was two WHITE-RUMPED
SANDPIPERs in the north dredge cell as we were leaving (they weren't there
when we arrived).

Subject: [MDOSPREY] Cromwell - Blue-winged Warbler & winter arrivals
I had low expectations with my late (10:30am) arrival at Cromwell Valley
Park today, but I saw many nice birds, including a surprise BLUE-WINGED
WARBLER, which posed nearby for an unmistakable ID, at least 6 WINTER WRENS,
5 HERMIT THRUSHES, 1 DARK-EYED JUNCO, and 2 immature WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS. |
